Claude Leaf is a browser extension for https://claude.ai/*. This Privacy Policy explains what data the extension handles, how that data is used, and when it is shared.

Data Claude Leaf Handles

1. Claude.ai page content and user-generated content

To provide its user-facing features, Claude Leaf may access, process, and locally store data from Claude.ai pages, including:

  • message content or excerpts that you choose to bookmark or tag
  • edit-history records and snapshots detected on Claude.ai pages
  • conversation URLs, identifiers, timestamps, and related metadata

This processing happens so the extension can power features such as bookmarks, emoji markers, navigation, edit history, export, import, and data restore.

2. Extension settings and local state

Claude Leaf stores extension settings and operational state, including:

  • enabled or disabled feature settings
  • popup preferences and favorites
  • local identifiers, timestamps, and storage metadata required for extension features

3. Analytics and diagnostics

Claude Leaf may send limited analytics and diagnostic data to Google Analytics 4, including:

  • extension usage events such as popup actions and feature interactions
  • extension version, page type, browser name and version, and operating system name and version
  • performance and count metrics
  • truncated error messages, stack traces, and error location information when runtime failures occur

Claude Leaf is designed not to intentionally send full Claude conversation content to analytics. However, diagnostic strings may contain limited snippets if browser or runtime error text includes them.

How Data Is Used

Claude Leaf uses data only to:

  • provide the extension's user-facing features on Claude.ai
  • store and restore extension data selected by the user
  • improve reliability, performance, and feature quality through analytics and diagnostics
  • respond to support, maintenance, or abuse-prevention needs when applicable

Where Data Is Stored

Claude Leaf uses browser-managed storage, including:

  • IndexedDB for feature data such as bookmarks, markers, and edit history
  • Chrome storage sync for settings
  • Chrome storage local and session for operational values such as analytics identifiers and session state

If you export your data from the extension, the exported file is stored wherever your browser saves downloaded files.

Data Sharing

Claude Leaf shares data only as described below:

  • Google Analytics 4 receives analytics and diagnostic event data sent by the extension
  • Google Chrome may synchronize extension settings if Chrome Sync is enabled for your browser profile

Claude Leaf does not sell user data to data brokers or advertisers.

Data Retention and User Controls

Extension-managed data remains in browser storage until it is cleared, overwritten, or removed according to browser behavior.

You can control data by:

  • using the extension's Data tab to export data
  • using the extension's Data tab to import data
  • using the extension's Data tab to clear supported stored data
  • removing the extension from Chrome

Security

Claude Leaf does not execute remote code. Network requests used by the extension are made over HTTPS.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the extension's data practices change. The published version of the policy should always match the current behavior of the released extension.
